Scorecard ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you sign in via Google, Apple, Microsoft, or Yahoo, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider. We do not receive or store your password.
Game data: Match scores, round details, rulesets, and game history that you create within the app.
Social data: Friend connections you establish within the app and any linked player records.
Device information: Device type, operating system, and app version, collected for troubleshooting and compatibility purposes.
Usage data: App interactions such as matches created, features used, and general session activity.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Sync your data across your devices
- Send push notifications (with your permission) for match activity and friend requests
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the app experience
- Respond to support requests and your communications
- Enforce our Terms of Service
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in these limited circumstances:
Service providers: We use third-party infrastructure providers (such as Heroku for hosting) that process data only as necessary to operate the Service on our behalf.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or other government authority.
Business transfers: If Scorecard is acquired or merged with another company, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Third-Party Authentication
Signing in through Google, Apple, Microsoft, or Yahoo means those providers authenticate your identity and share basic profile information with us. Their handling of your information during authentication is governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
5. Push Notifications
If you grant permission, we send push notifications via Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). These services are used only to deliver notifications — we do not share your personal information with them beyond what is necessary to route a notification to your device. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and game data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information in your account
- Delete your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via your device settings
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account within the app. You may also contact us at admin@thescorecard.app to exercise any of these rights.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and secure credential handling. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting an updated effective date or through an in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
