Creating a Match

To start a new match, tap Start a game on the home screen. The match creation wizard walks you through three steps: choose a game, add players, and configure rules.

Step 1: Choose a game

Select from the 10 supported games. Each game tile shows the player count required. For games that support variable player counts (like Hearts or Up & Down the River), select the number of players first — the game choices update to show compatible options.

Not sure which game to pick? Visit the Games page for an overview of each game.

Step 2: Add players

For team games (Spades, Euchre, Bridge, etc.), you'll assign players to teams. For individual games, you'll add them to a single list.

Each player slot can be filled by:

  • Yourself — your account's player is always available
  • Friends — players linked to your friends' accounts
  • Previous players — anyone you've played with before
  • A new player — enter a name to create a new player on the spot
Tip: New players are saved automatically. You'll see them in the player picker for future matches. To link them to a real user account, invite them as a friend.

Step 3: Configure rules (optional)

Each game has configurable rules — target score, scoring method, special bids, and more. You can:

  • Use the default rules (common settings for that game)
  • Apply a saved ruleset from your account
  • Adjust individual settings for this match only

See Custom Rulesets to learn how to save your house rules for future matches.

Scorekeeper role

The person who creates the match becomes the default scorekeeper. Only the scorekeeper can enter and edit scores. You can change the scorekeeper from within the match if needed.

After the match starts

You'll be taken to the match scoreboard. Share the match URL with other players so they can follow along in real time from their own devices.
